Bio
Hi, I'm Farley Compton.
I've been playing guitar, singing, and performing for most of my life. When I saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show, there was no turning back. I learned songs from the British Invasion and American rock and roll, and along the way I picked up a love of the blues, country, reggae, and pop music, as well. I made my way from band to band, working six nights a week doing original songs and cover tunes. I was hired by an Elvis impersonator, a Reggae/Motown band, worked in a 60's revival, an 80's cover ensemble, and then a country show band.
Top 40 country took me to Nashville in 1991, and soon I was performing 5 nights a week at the beautiful Opryland Hotel complex. The artist I was working with, Jeff Carson, went on to get a record deal with Curb Records. So I went from the hotel to national touring. With a couple of #1 songs on the radio, as his band leader and guitarist, I had the good fortune to appear with Jeff on the Grand Old Opry, Primetime Country, Crook and Chase, and CMT. We criss-crossed the US, playing in 49 states and most of the Canadian provinces, performing for tens of thousands of fans, sharing the stage with many of the day's biggest stars.
When the Jeff Carson opportunity came to a close, I moved back to Kansas City and worked with several top groups in the area, finally ending up in Florida in 2014. Now I entertain Floridians, snowbirds and tourists as a solo performer with backing tracks. I am a one man band playing songs people love, making them smile and making new friends in the process…
